My 00 adventure into the Garden

My first garden railway was OO, it ran alongside my pathway and though an existing flower bed. It lasted about 3 years before the constant maintenance got to me. On reflection the problem was not so much cleaning the track, even though it was at ground level, it was keeping the rubbish off the line. Even the unsolderd track joints were not an issue. I must admit not like some others I have seen on the net, I was not quite brave enough to fit any points.

These development photos are on a separate website and are not in any particular order

Most OO garden railways I have seen to date on the web have been raised and having built mine at ground level I can see why. The thing I always loved seeing was the long run of train & coaches, running down a long straight or even better a long gradual curve of track, which you rarely get on an indoor layout. I have some short video clips and some photographs that I can email to anyone who's interested. The track bed make up can be seen in the photographs. If you wish to discuss this method please don't hesitate to contact me.

One day, time & space permitting, I hope to see that long run again. If you manage to see the clips the train noise is unbelievable.
